Now this isn’t small potatoes! 5 lbs of potatoes for $2.50 at No Frills

Keep an eye out for great deals on Russet, red and yellow potatoes at No Frills. Specifically look for their ‘Naturally Imperfect’ line of potatoes in the bright yellow bags. (You know, it matches the bright yellow packaging of all their and Superstore’s No Name items.)

I was excited to find a bag of these red potatoes for only $2.50 for 5 pounds! At 50 cents a pound, that’s the cheapest I’ve seen fresh potatoes in as long as I can remember. And potatoes are such a staple ingredient for so many family’s meals. (I wrote an article about different ways to make sweet potatoes a main meal, but the same can totally be applied for regular potatoes too.)

The photo is so dark, sorry about that! I have low lighting in the kitchen to save on electricity, but next time I’ll remember to brighten things up a bit when taking pictures. 🙂 Those two little red potatoes in the photo are the ‘imperfect’ kind of potatoes you’ll find in these bags. I thought they looked pretty great! They are an in-between size of potato – not small enough to be mini potatoes and not large enough to maybe go in with the regular ones. Maybe that’s why they’re considered imperfect? Your guess is as good as mine, friends!

Anyway, watch out for these Naturally Imperfect produce deals, particularly at No Frills.
