Hello! I’ve missed doing these posts, so I’m back at it. I’ll try to always do them on Wednesdays in preparation for the new flyers coming out on Thursdays. Or, at the latest I’ll do it Thursday. With grocery prices being what they are now, it’s never felt more important to be aware of the prices you pay for food.
I really think the way to make a grocery budget stretch farther is to NOT be overly loyal to any one supermarket or store. By knowing the best deals at all the stores in Calgary, then you can shop the sales. You might not be able to hit all the different supermarkets, but even by getting the best deals at two or three places every week – it’ll make a huge difference to how much food you’re able to buy with your grocery budget.
I was wandering through Safeway today – picking up the sale items of course! – and I was shocked by how much prices have increased. I know I’m stating the obvious, but one thing really stood out to me. They had a cheese grater, you know a box grater that even a year or two ago probably would’ve cost about $9.99-$12.99. (I’m totally guessing that price, but I think it’s close.) Guess what the price was? $23.99!!! Yep, we really need to make our money stretch further whenever we can.
So with that being said, here are this week’s best deals at each major supermarket in Calgary this week.
