Wow, a lot of us are doing a lot of shopping online! And of course, the first place that comes to mind when you think online shopping is Amazon. Whether you’re looking for diapers for your baby, or some groceries to top up your pantry – Amazon has a wide selection of all sorts of necessary products in these uncertain times. But, of course, with all that ordering there can sometimes be issues with orders. Or, you may have another question you’d like to ask an Amazon customer service representative. With that in mind, we decided to search for the best customer service information to get in touch with Amazon.
Amazon Customer Service – Sign in to your Amazon Account
For the best customer service, always sign in to your Amazon account first. And if you receive suspicious phone calls from someone claiming to be from Amazon please be very careful. There are a lot of scams out there! (We know of one friend who wasn’t scammed, but was called over and over again by scammers claiming to be from Amazon. They kept wanting him to share his credit card information to supposedly renew his Amazon Prime. Amazon will never contact you like this!!)
Once you have safely signed into your account, using your own email and password to sign in, then you can access customized customer service help. This can also include being able to chat online with an Amazon customer service rep, which is a great option!
Amazon.ca Customer Service phone number
1-877-586-3230 is the main customer service phone number for Amazon in Canada. You can use this number to access help with orders or also with issues not pertaining to an order. Always have all pertinent information ready – such as order date, order number, and be ready to explain what help you need. Please also note that calling a customer service number will take a lot longer than accessing Amazon’s online chat feature. (I’ve used the chat feature a few times, and it’s quick and super efficient! We’ll have more information about the online Amazon chat below the phone number information.)

For customers viewing this from the US, you’ll use the same number as the Canadian number above. This customer service number is used throughout North America. 1-877-586-3230 is the main number to access Amazon’s customer service help. Again, be prepared with all information pertaining to your order such as order date and order number. And, be prepared to wait a while! Amazon.ca Live Chat Customer Service
As mentioned previously, I really love Amazon’s online chat feature! Simply login to your Amazon account on Amazon.ca. Scroll down to the very bottom of the main page under the heading Let Us Help You. You’ll see an option for Customer Service at the bottom of the list. Click here to go to Amazon.ca’s customer service page directly. You’ll be presented with a number of options on what type of help it is you’re trying to find. Click on the appropriate topic – such as ORDERS or Returns and Refunds.
It takes a little work to access online chat with Amazon, but one way I’ve discovered that works is if you click on ‘Problem with Order’ on any of your recent orders. Or, simply work through the online help and FAQ section. After trying for a while, it seems like an option for online chat will eventually become available. You have to work a little bit to find it though! And you always need to be signed in to your account to access the live chat.
Once you do access Online Chat, you’ll find that your issues can often be resolved very quickly. I’ve found it a much faster way to get customer service versus calling on the phone.

Amazon provides a ton of helpful FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions) to hopefully answer your question before you ever need to call or chat online with an Amazon rep. But, of course, there are always those rare occasions when you really do need to chat online to have your specific issue resolved.
There is no simple link to online chat with an Amazon customer service representative. First, you’ll need to sign on to your Amazon account. Then, go to Help at the very bottom of the page on Amazon.com. That link will take you to Amazon.com’s customer service help page.
Click on the appropriate topic – such as Your Orders or Returns and Refunds. When you’ve worked through the online articles meant to help answer your questions, and have not found an answer, then an online chat option will become available.
Amazon Customer Service Numbers and Chat – Conclusion
If you’re looking to access Amazon’s customer service, then we’ve provided you with phone numbers to do so in both Canada and the US. On the other hand, if you’re looking to chat online with a customer service representative, you’ll have to work through the available FAQ’s and eventually will be presented with an option to chat online. This way, Amazon is lessening the number of people using the chat feature, if they’re able to provide answers to their questions without needing to contact a rep directly. But, the chat feature is always there when the FAQs and other help haven’t answered questions fully.
