I am a bit of a nut when it comes to kitchen gadgets – having worked in housewares for over 13 years, I LOVE finding a great kitchen deal! Gadgets should work well, help solve a kitchen problem – and if they are multi-taskers, then even better! Here are some bargains on must-have kitchen gadgets that really will ease some daily cooking and kitchen tasks.
Oxo Good Grips Avocado Tool
OXO Good Grips 3-in-1 Avocado Slicer, Green Current price $13.49Prices can change at any time.
To say that everyone is still obsessed with avocados may in fact be understating the fact! Avocados are a superfood, filled with nutrients and healthy fats. Plus, they taste incredible! But, they can be a little tricky to deal with – so this tool makes it easy to cut safely into the fruit, remove the pit AND slice it right in the skin.
Tovolo Collapsible Microwave cover in Red
Tovolo Collapsible Microwave Cover Current price $16.39(Prices can change at any time.)
A messy microwave is something you can avoid if you simply cover your food while cooking it! Instead of reaching for plastic wrap, try this Tovolo cover instead. This Tovolo cover is sturdy, yet collapsible, so it is easy to store while flattened. (Traditional microwave covers were so bulky that storage was a real issue!) The 10.5 inch size makes it awesome for covering most bowls and plates. Simply pop the cover over the plate before popping in the microwave, and prevent the worst splatters and messes. It’s also dishwasher safe, making it a breeze to clean up.
Silicone Frying pan handle cover – great for stainless steel or cast iron skillets and frypans
2 pack Silicone cast iron frying pan handle covers Current price $14.99 for a pack of 2 Prices can change at any time
These handy silicone sleeves fits neatly over most standard frying pan handles. I find that this works especially well on my cast iron skillets – trust me, I have badly burnt myself on those before! If you have too, then you can quite literally feel my pain. This heavy-duty cover also provides a better grip on the pan, and is oven safe to 475 degrees F or 250 degrees C. At $14.99 for 2, it’s also a great deal or an inexpensive gift for a buddy.
Mason Jar Spoon Rest – Cute shade of blue – Ceramic spoon rests
Fox Run 11704 Ceramic Mason Jar Spoon Rest One Size Blue Current price $15.79 Price can change at any time.
I’m a real sucker for a cute spoon rest. So, when I saw this pale blue Mason Jar ceramic spoon rest, I swooned a bit. (I swooned for a spoon? Sorry…sometimes I can’t help myself.) A spoon rest is exactly what it says – a dedicated spot to drop your spoon in between stirring whatever gorgeous food you’re creating. This handy gadget keeps your counter tops clean. And, when it looks as cute as this little fella – well, you won’t even mind keeping it out as a decorative piece.
Aerolatte Handheld Milk Frother for Homemade Lattes and Cappuccinos
Aerolatte to Go, Milk Frother, Black Current price $26.00 Price can change at any time.
Can you say HOMEMADE LATTE? I knew you could! This handy little gadget creates great fluffy foam for your homemade lattes, cappuccinos and even gourmet hot chocolates. All I do is brew coffee extra strong in my coffee maker. Then, I heat up about 1/4-1/3 cup of milk in the microwave for about 30 seconds. (Your microwave times will vary, of course.) Then, use your Aerolatte to create gorgeous mounds of milk foam! Pour your coffee in over top, and sweeten and add a sprinkle of cinnamon to the top. Starbucks, eat your heart out. 🙂
I hope you enjoyed today’s Amazon kitchen gadget finds. If you’re a kitchen gadget freak like me, then maybe you discovered something new to add to your collection of kitchen must-haves. Okay, off to get more coffee! I sincerely hope you’re off to do the same! Especially if you’re whipping up one of those homemade lattes I discussed. 😉

There may come a point when your knives get downright annoying. When they just won’t cut properly anymore, then it may be time to invest in a new set of knives. If you’re looking for low-maintenance knives, these Cuisinart knives are perfect! They each come with a protective cover, so you can store them in your kitchen drawers without damaging the knives. And at $29.99 they are only about $5.00 per knife! Wow! Bargain hunters, we’ve found a good one here.
Please note that the 12 piece set means there are 6 individual knives with 6 matching covers. (Not 12 knives.)
Stainless steel knives with a nonstick coating (makes it easy to slice through even stickier foods, like cheese!)
Knives can be sharpened with a regular knife sharpener. (The straight edged blades; the serrated knives will be very difficult to sharpen.)
Limited lifetime warranty (which is excellent given this price point)
Paring knife – perfect for small cutting jobs or more ideally to pare – or peel – fruits and veggies. Just a handy little knife to have. This is also a perfect little knife to store in your lunch bag for at work, or for on a picnic! It’s perfectly safe too, as it has its own little protective covering.
Sandwich/bagel knife – A perfectly shaped knife for cutting into sandwiches or bagels. This knife features a serrated edge, making it ideal to cut through even thicker crusts of bread and down into the softer bread inside. A useful knife!
Santoku style knife – This all-purpose knife is excellent for chopping. It is in more of a Santoku style, meaning more up and down chopping. Its smaller size (versus the chef’s knife) means this will likely be a knife you grab an awful lot!
Slicing knife/Carving Knife – This knife is excellent for many purposes, but the longer and thinner blade means it’s perfect for slicing things like roast chicken (rotisserie chicken), ham, roast beef, etc. Creates nice, even slices. And for vegetarians, it would make a perfect knife for slicing even slices of tofu.
Chef’s knife – This knife is the workhorse in the kitchen! Use it for all your major chopping and cutting jobs while cooking – chopping and slicing veggies, meat, herbs, etc.
Bread knife – Just as its name suggests, this longer knife with serrated edges will make it very easy to slice through loaves of bread, buns, etc. The serrated ‘teeth’ allow the knife to cut through the crusts of bread and then down into the softer bread inside.

I love Wilton products. They make excellent bakeware and all sorts of supplies for cooking. $5.99 for a nonstick cooling rack is a truly good deal. (If you watch the prices at Amazon, you’ll see that this cooling rack/tray can go as high as $15.00!)
If you’re in the market for new cooling racks, then this is the time to stock up on a couple. These are excellent for cooling off baked goods as soon as they get out of the oven. Items like cupcakes, cookies, and cakes all need to cool off out of the pan once they’ve been baked. The nonstick finish means items won’t stick to the rack.
Gift Alert: Items like these cookie cooling racks always make excellent gifts for a friend who loves to bake! When you’re baking big batches of cookies or muffins, it seems like you never have enough cooling racks to go around. 🙂 Ahhh…now I’m thinking of cookies and muffins.

Brewing up a perfect cup of loose leaf tea is easy when you have the right silicone tea infuser to help along with the job. Simply pop open the infuser, fill with your favourite loose leaf tea – whether black tea, green tea or an herbal tea – and then pop into your cup. Fill with boiling water, and in only a few minutes you have a delicious, fresh hot cup of tea!
Silicone infusers are ideal to use, because they’re easy to clean! The silicone is also easier to use – customers say that the lids of these infusers are easier to remove than the traditional metal lids, which can be a bit cumbersome. (I find the little metal clasps on the traditional tea infusers are what makes them such a pain to deal with.)
4 piece Green Leaf set of silicone tea infusers – $3.00 off coupon
And who ISN’T a fan of pugs!? This adorable little fellow helps you to whip up a delightful cup of freshly brewed tea, over and over again. Goodbye wasteful tea bags!
4.5/5 star rating
Super easy to use and clean – just pop off the lid, fill with loose leaf tea and then pop into your cup. This little pug makes teamaking super easy! When you’re done, just a quick hot soapy rinse will get him clean and ready to use again when the next craving for tea strikes. (And yes, he is DISHWASHER SAFE.)

There’s nothing better than a fresh batch of muffins! But, sometimes you come to realize that it’s time to replace your old muffin pans. You know…like when they look like something that went through the wars? Yes, it is time!
Silicone muffin pans make baking muffins easier than ever. And today we’re sharing this 20% off sale at Linen Chest on Trudeau 12-cup silicone muffin pans. As with any muffin pans, be sure to still grease the pans a bit before adding the muffin batter. You can use less fat greasing the pans when you use silicone, but you’ll still need some. You can use either butter, margarine or oil such as canola oil or sunflower oil. By greasing the pans, this will ensure that the muffins will pop out easily.
And – if you love making egg muffins (also known as muffin cup quiches or muffin cup omelets), then silicone pans make it a lot easier to remove these from the pan. You simply pop them out! You can’t so that with a metal pan, let me tell you…
CoversAndAll provides just about every type of cover for your outdoor living furniture, BBQs and pools. And right now, they’re having a sitewide 20% off sale. So, this is the time to get some covers for the goodies out in your backyard, and save yourself some money while you do it. They also carry truly customizable covers – so whatever it is you need to protect from the weather and the elements, they can create it.
P.S. Those personalized BBQ and grill covers they sell look so cool! You can customize the look of your BBQ cover with the logo of your favourite sports team – a great gift idea for a true hockey, football, baseball or basketball lover. (Or soccer. Sorry soccer, I nearly forgot about you!)
