Well.ca sales and specials this week: SunBum lip balm for $0.25 (No joke!) and Only $1.50 for kids’ sunscreen

While I was trying (without much success!) this week to find some foaming soap refills for our soap dispensers, I came upon some great options at Well.ca! This was my first every order with Well.ca and I have to say I’ve been really happy so far. The price on the foaming soap refills were better than anywhere else (Amazon was WAY more expensive, which surprised me!) and the processing was very fast. I’ll post a link to the soap, if they still have any available.

But, while I was there on their site anyway, my bargain hunting tendencies got the best of me and I started to look for the best sales and deals they have going on right now. Here are all the best deals this week:

Watkins Foaming Soap Refills Canada

  • Like I said, this stuff was hard to find! Both the Lemon and Green Tea variety were still available the last time I checked. Each packet of 828 ml size allows you to fill their foaming soap pump about three times. I stocked up, because over this crazy COVID and flu season, I wanted to make sure to not run out of soap! The large packages of refill soap are $6.99 each – the best price I could find, period. If you guys find a better price, please let me know – whether it’s online or offline!

Boiron Products – 25% off at Well.ca until October 25, 2020

  • Boiron products are a wide range of homeopathic and natural treatments and therapies for cold and flu season. All of these products are on for 25% off until October 25. They have family bundles of cold and flu natural medicines – this one is on sale for $39.13 right now and includes Oscillococcinum and Boiron Stodal for Adults syrup. (That is their type of homeopathic cough and cold syrup; excellent if you want to try something more naturally derived than the cough syrup you generally can get at the drug store.)

CLEARANCE ITEMS at Well.ca this Week

Now for the ultimate money savers! These items are up to 60% off in Well.ca’s clearance section. We’ll start with the cheapest items first, because you know we like cheap around here. 😉

  • Only $0.25 for SunBum lip balm – I picked up four of the coconut lip balms, because hey – 4 for a buck is an eyepopping kind of deal! Oops, the coconut is sold out but there is still a banana variety that gets a very good rating and a pomegranate flavour too. Has an SPF of 30, which is handy to keep your lips protected in the sometimes harsh sun of winter. (Which has well and truly arrived here in Calgary. Ugh.)
  • Only $1.50 for Badger Natural Kids sunscreen – regularly $29.00 – Wowser! i need to post these bargains quickly so you guys actually get a chance to snag these before they’re all gone. SPF 40 by the way – and I’m pretty sure the sunscreen police won’t charge you IF you as an adult wear this kids’ sunscreen. (Wish I had seen this one before I placed my order! hahaha)
  • Only $4.00 for Little Ones toy cleaner – all natural toy cleaner to scrub clean those toys that kids get yucky. Which, of course, is all the toys they touch! The brand on this is Attitude Nature Plus.

I hope you guys can snag whatever items it is you need this week from Well.ca. I seriously want to post this in the hopes that you can get some of these incredible deals before they’re gone. And as a helpful reminder: Shipping is FREE on Well.ca when you spend $35 or more.

Happy shopping, everyone! And hope there’s less snow where you are.

Argon oil shampoo (Argan oil) – Excellent for dry hair

Argon oil shampoo is excellent for adding lots of moisture to your hair, which is particularly helpful if you have naturally dry hair. Argan oil is derived from the argan nut of the argan tree, which grows in Morocco. That’s why the original argan oil products were all labelled as Moroccan argan oil – that’s where this stuff grows naturally!

The reason argan oil shampoo has become so incredibly popular is that it can add moisture to hair in a way that few other ingredients can. For centuries, people in Morocco ate argan oil, because it’s not only got a delicious, mildly nutty taste, but it also has amazing health benefits! For your hair, though, you’ll be able to tell a difference in the texture – argan oil can help to smooth out your hair. This is perfect if – like me – your hair tends to be a bit frizzy.

Argan (Argon) Oil shampoos available online

We’ve searched for some of the highest rated, and still reasonably priced Argan oil shampoos available online. When possible, we give you two different options of where to purchase, so that you can choose the retailer you’d prefer to support. Okay…happy shopping, y’all!

OGX Renewing Argan Oil of Morocco Shampoo

OGX Renewing Argan Oil of Morocco Shampoo

$11.29 @ Well.ca or $6.99 @ Amazon.ca; 385 ml bottle

A consistent best-selling shampoo, this one gets rave reviews from customers! This shampoo claims to help restore moisture and health to even the most dry, damaged hair.

Here’s my favourite review: “Creamy shampoo that smells nice too. It made my hair silky and soft. Very nourishing for split ends.”

Live Clean Argan Oil Restorative Shampoo

Live Clean Argan Oil Restorative Shampoo

$13.99 @ Well.ca and on sale for $9.98 @ Amazon.ca (Regular price $12.49) – Family size bottle 750 ml

  • Excellent when used together with the matching conditioner to create softer, more manageable hair.
  • Nice light, natural scent that’s a mild nutty scent – smells lovely.
  • No SLS in this product (sodium lauryl sulfate.) If you’re trying to avoid this detergent ingredient, you can purchase this shampoo knowing there’s no sulfate in it at all. (So, the shampoo will not lather up as much BUT your hair will get just as clean.)

If you’re looking for an argan oil shampoo, then the two we’ve listed above come very highly recommended. You’ll get an awesome new shampoo, and your hair will look moisturized and beautiful. Hooray for good hair days!

Whole Foods organic peppermint lip balm – finally back down to $1.99! Hooray!

Wow…after months of my favourite lip balm rising in price – up as high as $6.98 at times during the pandemic – it has come down to its natural price. $1.99!! We call that a stock up price around here, bargaineers. It’s been sitting in my Amazon cart for ages, just waiting for the price to go back down to normal.

There are two different varieties on for only $1.99 right now – my favourite organic peppermint, and also a vanilla honey. (I haven’t tried the vanilla. I’m pretty tempted to try it at that price though. Oh okay, you went and convinced me. I popped it into my Amazon cart, too. That didn’t take a lot of arm twisting now did it? 😉 )

These are my favourite lip balms because:

  • They’re organic
  • They’re a great bargain (or at least, they are again now! For a while there they were pretty pricey. Must’ve been a supply and demand thing during the pandemic.) Under $2 a piece for organic lip balm is a wonderful deal.
  • They work well! Natural peppermint lip balm leaves your lips feeling sort of tingly, but in the best possible way.
  • The list of ingredients is natural – things like organic coconut oil, organic beeswax, and natural (real!) peppermint essential oil.

Whole Foods Organic Peppermint Lip Balm: $1.99

Whole Foods Market Organic Peppermint Lip Balm, 0.15 oz

Whole Foods Vanilla Honey Lip balm: $1.99

Whole Foods Market Organic Vanilla Honey Lip Balm, 0.15 oz

I’ll definitely be buying a few of these. Will you?

Buy Bulk spices online in Canada – Money saving grocery tips

We’re all trying to keep stocked up on groceries during this pandemic, and yet we’re also trying to keep within our grocery budgets, too. Not an easy task, bargaineers! And one thing I’ve noticed that can be insanely expensive during our weekly jaunts to the grocery store is spices.

Whatever type it is: cinnamon, basil (which, yes is an herb!), parsley, nutmeg, cloves…and on and on. Any type of dried herbs or spices can be very expensive, especially when we’re just shopping at one store right now. (We have, in fact, discovered one store that is pretty quiet early in the mornings. So, we just shop there, and only one time per week. But boy, are their spices PRICEY!!)

So, I discovered some online choices that will allow you to buy your dried herbs and spices in bulk and save a LOAD of money! You could even buy a bag or two and share with a friend to save even more money.

1 pound bags (454 grams) of Organic Cinnamon

Splendor Garden organic Cinnamon Ground,454.0 Gram
This is an awesome deal right now! (As always, prices on Amazon can change quickly, so snag this deal while you can. I am too!) We go through an awful lot of cinnamon – to sprinkle on homemade lattes, to add to oatmeal in the morning, and to use in baking. So, this 1 pound bag is a great deal. $10.85

Half pound bags of Organic Thyme (227 grams)

Splendor Garden Organic Thyme Leaves, 227 Grams is another great bargain by Splendor Garden! A great big bag for only a bit more than a fancy (and tiny) jar would cost you in the supermarket. Thyme is a wonderful addition to all sorts of savoury cooking, especially roasted meat or tomato sauces. $10.99

Organic Basil Leaves (dried) – Large 1 pound (454 grams) bag

Splendor Garden organic Basil,454.0 Gram
Basil is one of my very favourite herbs to cook with! I put plenty into any homemade spaghetti sauces I’m making, and it’s also delicious added to homemade salad dressings or dips. This big bag is on for only $16.30 – a bargain!

Large 1 pound bags of Organic Ginger Powder

Splendor Garden organic Ginger Ground,454.0 Gram
Yum! Dried ginger powder is an essential ingredient in scrumptious homemade baking like gingerbread cookies, ginger cake, and spice cake. This large bag will last you a long time! $13.43

Storage Tins and Jars for your Spices

When you buy bulk herbs and spices you definitely save oodles of money. But, since they’re not sent to you in cute little jars or bottles, you’ll need a few options on how to properly store these spices. Remember to keep your spices in a cool, dry place to retain the flavour and intensity of the spices the longest. All of the containers we chose are highly ranked for sealing well, which means your spices will stay fresh longer.

12 Pack Bernardin 125 ml Mason Jars with Labels

Bernardin 20125 125ml Regular Mouth Mason Jar, Clear – Pack of 12
You can’t beat a well made Mason jar! These useful jars are just perfect for storing large quantities of spices. Plus, they come with cute decorative labels to properly label and organize your new spices. $8.99 for a pack of 12

Stainless Steel magnetic spice jars and tins – pack of 12

Bekith 12 Pack Magnetic Spice Tins Multi-Purpose Storage Tin, Clear Top Lid with Sift or Pour, Magnetic on Refrigerator and Grill.
If you’re short on space, these magnetic spice jars might be exactly the solution you need! You can literally fill them up with your favourite spices and herbs, and then store them on the side of your fridge!! And, this is a great gift for a grill master – they can keep all their favourite BBQ rubs and spice blends in a tin and store it on the side of the BBQ! (Awesome, right?) These jars have openings on the side so you can just shake out the spices, rather than having to open the tin up. And, this set comes with 144 labels. Can you tell I really love these? Ha! $26.99 for a pack of 12 with 144 labels

I hope our post helped you snag an amazing deal on some dried herbs and spices. Instead of paying up to $10 for a small jar, you can pay around the same and get about ten times the amount! That is a huge grocery bill savings, and we can use all the savings we can get right now.

Links are affiliate links. When you purchase via one of our links, we receive a small commission at no extra cost to you. Thanks so much!
